This twelve-unit residential development in Manhattan Beach integrates custom Italian cabinetry designed to support open-plan kitchen layouts while maintaining a consistent millwork language across all residences. AKO fabricated and installed cabinetry systems that organize the primary living spaces around central kitchen islands while providing full-height storage along perimeter walls.
The kitchens combine wood base cabinetry with light-toned upper cabinets to establish a balanced material composition across the millwork system. Large-format islands provide integrated seating and storage while acting as the primary organizational element within each unit’s kitchen layout. Stone surfaces visible within the island and backsplash areas were coordinated with other trades to align precisely with the cabinetry installations. Appliance placements were incorporated into the cabinetry framework to maintain clean elevations and uninterrupted millwork lines.
